We're Keltie and Michael of Small Holdings Farm. Heading into our 5th season operating our farm and selling at the New Glasgow Farmers' Market, we grow vegetables, culinary herbs and cut flowers, always without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. Our farm is located just outside of the community of Scotsburn, on the Millsville Road.

We love to cook and eat, to work outside and to grow both food and flowers for the smiling faces greeting us weekly throughout the farm season. We harvest and sell our veggies, herbs and cut flowers late May through October.

As we continue to turn hay fields into garden beds, we're growing always without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical/synthetic fertilizers. Beyond these inputs which we strictly avoid, we are driven to contribute to the health of our soil and the larger ecosystem of our farm and community.

Before moving to Pictou County and establishing our small farm, we worked on other ecologically-focused small farms in Nova Scotia and beyond. We are first generation farmers encouraged and continually supported by our mentor and peer farmers throughout the province. We are always learning and striving to be the best farmers we can be.
